You’ll need Admin access to complete this guide.

We know that most people don’t find internal control as exciting as we do at Runwell. It can be difficult to get employees to use the system, and without active use it doesn’t work optimally. Chat is an easy way to get employees engaged, while you avoid having lots of different communication channels.

In Runwell Chat you get a number of useful features:

  • Create info channels

  • Employees are automatically added to and removed from chats

  • React to content and see who hasn’t reacted

  • See who has viewed the message

  • Delete or edit a message

  • Reply to a message

  • Adjust notifications

  • Pin a chat

These Are the Most Popular Chats People Create

People use Runwell chat in many different ways, but those who are most successful use it actively. Here are some suggestions; feel free to adapt them to your needs:

  • Open shifts: Used by employees and managers to fill the rota.

  • General: Used for anything and everything related to the location. Some use it as an info channel, others as a regular chat.

  • Important information: Set as an info channel. Some selected employees can post information; the rest can only react.

  • Department chat: Bartenders have their chat, chefs have theirs and department managers have theirs. Everyday topics are shared here.

  • Menu: Used to inform about new menu items or items sold out for the day.

  • Feedback from guests: Used for compliments and complaints from guests.

  • Purchasing: For both small and large items that need to be bought.

  • Employee of the Month: Set as an info channel where the employee of the month is announced each month.

  • Nonsense and fun: A channel for everything from after‑work drinks to funny pictures.
